Biomass compaction in Verona

The term biomass refers to organic matter, therefore coming from animal and plant organisms: consequently, marine algae, grass, leaves, waste from the animals themselves, but not only, fall into this group.

Biomass energy, in fact, can be obtained by using waste materials from the agri-food industry, such as residues from the processing of some crops or animal sewage produced on farms. Or it can be obtained from firewood and waste produced by activities related to the forestry sector. Finally, the biodegradable fraction of urban waste also falls into the biomass category: essentially, what you throw away in the organic waste.

All these materials that I have described to you are not destined to run out over time and this is the reason why biomass energy is considered renewable and capable of reducing man's need to rely on fossil fuels. At this point, all that remains is to understand how energy is produced from these biomasses.
